I had an amazing experience during my work placement at TONIC!

I was a bit nervous at first, especially since it was remote and completely new to me, but the team quickly made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Everyone I spoke to was patient, approachable, and happy to answer my (many!) questions. I wasn’t just an observer; I was encouraged to get involved, contribute my ideas, and learn by doing.

A highlight was analysing real survey data and presenting my findings to some of the team. It gave me a clear insight into what social research really involves, and I found the process both challenging and rewarding. Before this placement, I had only a rough idea of what social research was about - now, I’m definitely considering it as a future career path.

I’m really grateful to the TONIC team for their time, honesty, and encouragement throughout the week. This experience taught me a lot about social research and about how a passionate, close-knit team can make meaningful, impactful work happen. It was inspiring to see how much dedication and care everyone brings to their projects, and I feel lucky to have been part of it.
